Colorado is a wonderful and interesting place to live. Our area, in particular, offers you a unique blend of mountain and city lifestyles. You can take a walk in an undisturbed forest setting enjoying wildlife and the wonder of our clear blue skies and later that day you can take in a world class theatrical or symphonic performance just minutes from home.
The climate here is moderate for the most part. In the Denver-metro area the temperature rarely reaches 99 degrees in the summer nor does it dip below zero in winter. The mountain climate generally is 10 degrees cooler than Denver and its surrounding suburbs. We enjoy low humidity and although it frequently snows at the higher elevations of our state, our area receives moderate snowfall which generally melts quickly. Air conditioning is not necessary in the foothills area and, in the winter, coats are not needed on many days.
Boasting more than 300 days of sunshine the opportunities for exploration and recreation are seemingly endless. You will have a tough time choosing your passion once you make the move. Public access is readily available offering trails for mountain biking, hiking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and rock climbing. Rivers such as the Platte and Arkansas provide excellent kayaking and white water rafting. Or if you need to find serenity there’s fly fishing, back packing, photography or bird watching to name a few.
We offer a low stress laid back business climate and most businesses in the foothills are owned and operated by our local residents. Mid to Large-sized corporations can be found in the metro area with commutable access from most of our communities.
So, come for a visit
you will surely want to stay forever.
